Updating to PT 12.4 incredibly slow on Avid Application Manager

I am using the Avid Application Manager to update from 12.3.1.260 to 12.4. After 1-2 hours it's only 17% downloaded. Internet connection strong. Is there a faster way to upgrade or a way to speed this up?

I've already installed Pro Tools so am not sure if downloading 12.4 directly from the site then installing that will work as an upgrade or if I need to uninstall the previous version first. Thanks for any advice.

I think the servers must be on overload. The day after Christmas you know? I wanted to just download the Eleven MkII, and it took me 4-5 times before I could even get the product page to load. Be patient. As we would say in the restaurant biz, a busy kitchen is a good kitchen .

It's a full installer, so uninstall current version and HD driver, install new HD driver, install 12.4.

Frankly this Avid Application manager is nothing but disappointment for us. Slow, many times doesn't connect properly, failed downloads, etc. I stopped using it and went back to the usual download and install it manually.

Another vote for not bothering with the app manager.
