Default What are you guys using for drive imaging/backup?

I'm getting ready to make the full switch to Mac from Windows for my HD rig, and wanted to see what you all use for drive imaging/cloning software with your Macs to keep backups of your system drive, etc.? Thanks.

I used carbon copy cloner and it worked fine. Only a couple of challenge response codes needed sorting out when a drive failed.

Default Superduper

Having switched from Retrospect, I've been using Superduper for the last year. It's been great. Superduper costs $28, offers a sensible GUI, and makes a seamlessly bootable clone of your system drive. I backup to LaCie FW800 drives and feel quite safe with my backups.

I wouldn´t feel safe with a backup on a LaCie-Drive.

Frank.

I also switched to Superduper and love it (recently saved my A@@ when a drive failed), Much better than CCC. Also ditto on the Lacie, I would not back up or use one.

Apple has a built in tool called iSync that is supposed to do the trick. I have not tried it. I went thru this a few years back and decided to use a program called Synk to move the files to other drives. Synk only copies what has changed and also moves old versions of files to an archive folder, so the risk of overwriting a good file is eliminated (case in point would be if a session file got corrupted and you had not changed the file name in awhile. . . copying your existing session over you old backup would overwrite the last good session file). From there I use a separate old Mac G4 to move to tape running Retrospec and an AIT drive. I must admit I rarely do that these days (only for off premise backups), maybe 2-3 times a project, because it is so slow and I feel fairly comfortable with the Synk backup copy on a second hard drive. Below are some links:
