Default Re: protools m-powered.exe application error

when I first installed it no and no other USB devices I was using Sonar 7 and I like what I read about Pro Tools 8 so I got 7.4 with the Free upgrade and completely reformat my harddrive so PT is the only DAW running other then Reason and Stylus RMX(Im starting to think it was a bad idea). I uninstalled it and went back to 7.4 and now Stylus 1.5.1 wont even work on PT 7.4.

It does not look like this is something we could fix, at least not without a huge amount of work. The problem is that certain processors which claim to support SSE instructions actually do not. The problem is the processor not doing what it's supposed to, not Pro Tools.

One quick question that may be relevant - are all of you on a motherboard with a VIA KM400 chipset?

Default Re: protools m-powered.exe application error

I have the same problem 0X80000003 on 2 Intel Machines One is a core 2 duo Laptop That supports those instruction sets and more. The other on a Pentium 4 3.06 Hyper threading. The Pro tools LE 8 worked on the pentium 4 unit when I had a 2.53 GHZ processor in it but was slow. When I Upgraded the processor and enabled Hyper threading the machine was twice as fast but now I have the famous 0X80000003 error when trying to start Pro tools LE8. I have tried everything in the world wide web to fix this issue on the Laptop as well to no avail. I have Kore 2 Complete 5 and many other Antares synths. Everything works great except the Pro tools 8. Please help. I need the Laptop to Record some major shows coming up. Thanks Justin

After upgrading the processor (to which one?), did you reinstall the OS? If not - you should, as any time you change hardware, an OS reinstall is necessary to be sure all the correct drivers and components are installed.

Exclamation PT 8 application error - Vista Solution

On Vista 32-bit anyone getting these errors upon opening ProTools 8 LE:

1. "User privileges insufficient to start a low level driver"

or

2. "the application failed to initialize properly, blah blah blah)

Try the following steps:

turn off user account

vista guide try installing under new user account with admin privilege

vista optimization

uninstall / reinstall pace drivers (paceap.com goto download drivers windows 32)

Go to application file right click on protools .exe go to properties / uncheck compatibility mode / or run as administrator

free utility / pcwizard

Cheers,
Jason

I have this problem and have an AMD.

I guess it's a problem with pace? I get error 3 whatever that is.

Is there anything I can do? I have to get this to work!

It worked for me initially and I've used it a few times, so there has to be a way. Nothing has changed!
