Hi, I have some questions about upgrading to Panther from Jaguar:
- Do all plugins need to be upgraded? - How do I upgrade to Panther versions of Bomb Factory? Digi's site seemed vague. - Do I need Panther compatible versions of the Reason Adapted $99 bundle I just bought? - What happened to the Panther compatibility box for Digidesign Developers? I couldn't find it on the site. Thanks everyone. |

I just used the 6.4 upgrade as my reason to go to OS10.3
Reason works great. Make sure your plugs in the digi plugins folder are all there, no folders, TLfauxlder, etc.. the plugin updaters will only look for the main plugins Make sure you have latest versions of everything... you will run the digi updaters from the 6.4 CD. Everything seems to be just fine. Panther rocks. I am used to no-frills OS upgrades -- but 10.3 packs lots of new, useful, intelligent features. Definitely worth the upgrade.

Is that really all? Upgrade to Panther and Pro Tools 6.4, and all the plugins will be taken care of? Even Waves?

Waves 4.0.5 is certified for panther.
>>If you are using G5 and/or Panther, you should download and install your bundle's update v4.0.5 from www.waves.com > Download > Installers. Obviously, you may have to download latest and greatest. The "painful" (read: expensive) upgrade for me was from OS9-OSX. But that was long ago...

If you go to www.waves.com - downloads, the current version is: 4.0.5 - it states:
"The Mac OS-X download includes support for G5 computers and Panther OS" Why wouldn't you download this if you know you're gonna use Panther? It doesn't specifically say 4.0.1 doesn't work, but it does say 4.0.5 works. Good enough for me. jr
