I always install updates. BUT(BIG BUT) I also ALWAYS have a backup plan. For Mac, I would use something like Carbon Copy Cloner and a spare hard drive(clone your working setup, swap drives, update the cloned version. If all Hell breaks loose, swap drives back). Maybe Time Machine can do something similar?

It's working fine for me. YMMV : )

Albee I do use time machine and was sure glad I had it in one of the PT9 updates. Saved an 8 hour day! What gets me is installing over am old one when Avid clearly states to do am uninstall. It's not that hard and I suspect a lot of issues would be avoided by following the simple direction!

Simple shortcuts like command D d shift mute won't work since Im on 10.3.3

annoying :/

I have to switch PT off n turn it back on to make them work

Default PT 10.3.3 anyone? How's it going out here?

Why the need to do the uninstall, then install? I'm new to Pro Tools and just installed 10.3.3 from 10.2.6 and there seems to be no issues. Is there something I should be looking for?

Check your disk cache function, if you have it, as it is not working correctly in 10.3.3. After one session launch with the audio being successfully cached most of the time the subsequent sessions will not cache any audio. The workaround is to open the IO settings window and hit close. The session will then cache the audio.
