"Could not complete the open the session command because Magic ID does not match."
So how do I retrieve the session? Answerbase had no suggestions

The answerbase actually has quite a few suggestions:
Article #8017 Article #8014 and a few that were reported on a mac, but refer to external drives, so they may actually apply in Windows as well: Article #29546 Article #25430
