Default Can't Run PT 12.8 License Error

I just installed 12.8, and when I run it, I get an error that says "You are trying to run a newer version of Pro Tools than allowed by your license"

I have never had this problem, and 12 is on my iLok, 12.8 is in my account. I have successfully run all versions of 12 so far.

I ran Application manager and get the same result. My account is active until December of 2017.

Any ideas welcomed-

have you updated your iLok Manager Software !!!

Make sure you sync your ilok aswell after updating the ILM. Use the sync repair fucntion and see if that does it.

Maybe you need to refresh your liscences in the iLok manager

Thanks for the input-

I ran ILM from my Mac and everything was there. I logged in, and it showed all my licenses. I then ran Pro Tools and it loaded properly.

Never sure of the sequence of events to get each new version running.

Can't create a case. Eveytime errors when I send the form. This is getting annoying.

Edit: Finally managed to create a case and within 30 minutes I got a working license. Pro Tools 12.8 is now working!

I see that Arianne replied to your support case about 15min ago, so please check your email for a case notice. (You can also sign into my.avid.com and go to Access The Support Center > Cases to check your support cases.)

HI,
I have all the symptoms mentioned here. Followed the ilok uninstall/install procedure shown at the beginning of the thread, the 'release limit' is also 01/04/2017 though my license is valid till 31st of march 2018. I started a support case some minutes ago.

Just started a support case. Uninstall/reinstall didn't work.

With all due respect to hard-working Jeffro, everyone who purchased PT11 and then switched to subscription has a perpetual license that expired in January or at the end of March. This bug will affect thousands.

But even so, fix mine first!

(minutes after I posted this, Avid called me and fixed the issue. Pretty impressive speed! all good now. 12.8 here I come...)

Hello,

I'm also receiving this error after trying to upgrade to 12.8. My rate limit in iLok manager states versions released on or before 3/31/17. yet my annual upgrade plan does not expire until 3/31/18.

I tried opening a support case via phone but was informed that I had to buy a single support case in order to talk to a human being. Instead I tried filing a case via the web form and received this case number 03242229.

@jeffro is this something you can help me with?

Oh and yes I'm using the latest version of iLok license manager, 3.1.7.899
