Avid should have included a right angle cable with the unit.

Hell, why not throw in the iPad? How many more apple shaped hoops does Avid have to jump through?

For a device that is designed to work with iPads and can easily allow users to damage some iPads if not used with an adapter yes I think Avid would gave included an adapter. Or even better design the thing not to need one in the first place.

What they should have done is follow Neyrinck's example and gone for an OS agnostic solution.

The problem with smart watches is they need a native app. A tablet or phone controller though can run a standard browser interface.

Come on, you're serious with that???

Why is the Ethernet cable thrown in if that's your logic?

They know it's a design challenge.

What % of lighting cable users have ever even seen let alone bought a right angle connector?

Give me a break!

The problem with smart watches is they are stupidly small to use for anything like this and the type of idiot who wants to run a transport control on one probably has other intelligence/mental problems that gets in the way of using a DAW.

You cannot make a beautiful UI, highly-responsive/low-latency app with lovely touch control though a Web browser. All the control surface apps on iOS or Android that I am aware of are native apps.

Are you so sure about that? If you're playing a synth, let's say, and you want to punch in and press record, from your watch, what's so idiotic about that? It only needs a few buttons on it.

Can you play your synth with your feet while punching in with your watch? Or maybe you could take the watch off, put it on top of the keyboard and smack it with you forehead when you want to punch in. Either way please post a photo of yourself doing this and we'll let you know it it looks idiotic or not.
