This is a perfect reason to use the FLIP feature and put pan onto the linear faders

Errrr... yep... it's also a perfect reason for Avid to improve the response of the control knobs! :}

I agree, but...this is a common issue with rotary encoders(the PAN knob on my Faderport is worthless).

Yes, it is a common issue. I had a Steinberg CC-121 -really nice little controller but the response of the knobs was very poor and almost every user seemed to agree but it was never updated.

Everyone wants a different feel and level of acceleration etc. so give the user some options and then everyone's happy!

I have the artist series controllers and agree the knobs are worthless for any life performing.

I am upgrading to an S3 and too agree. AVID... Please listen and improve your controllers so they actually function in a way that aids the professionals that use it.

Seem so counterintuitive to have hardware that only kind of helps us work better because of small issues that cripple the devices potential.

So true and so depressing... We all collectively as users need to band together to speak as a large cohesive voice so Avid knows the discontent so many of their users hold. Love my S3 but gosh... It lacks so many seemingly intuitive no brainier non flashy features to make it a device that will actually speed up your workflow beyond just motorized faders.

Plugin focus like the command 8 has...

Ability to turn off the horrendous rotary velocity that we all hate with a passion to just name a few.

It's a shame that acids newer products lack basic functionality that their 10 year old products have.

Is there a way for us to band together to speak with a larger voice to avid?

Any ideas? A petition? A video? Get a poll going on PTE? Would be nice to flipping even get avid to implement ONE JUST ONE feature request.

After a few weeks on another console, I am back on my beloved S3, and simply had to vent on this ridiculous issue.

Come on AVID, the rotary pot scaling issue needs to be addressed. It makes a great product frustrating.

Hey Kyle, any word on whether our request for a linear scale on the rotary encoders?

Cheers,

Tony
