New system: any cautionary notes w PT 11?
I have ordered a new system, going to Windows10, w 16 gig ram, SSD, 7 core etc. Should have more capacity, speed, etc. than existing system.
Anything I should know about migrating the system over? Potential re-install problems, glitches, etc? Can I create a similar-named folder and transfer program files via flash drive, or do I have to re-install via download, etc? Last edited by mickeyrouse; 12-05-2017 at 04:24 AM. |

And PT11 will not be updated passed 11.3.2 so you will have to upgrade to a PT12 option if you want support and knowing it works. PT11 is over 4 years old by now.

Re: New system: any cautionary notes w PT 11?
Using PT 12 on my home computer, and see few real advantages over 11. I have two licenses because I will surely lose my iLock going back and forth- I had 11 on home and studio for a while and routinely left it at the other place before I bought a license (which by that time was 12) for my home use. Is Windows 7 so shakey that I should get away from it? I have the occasional crash but who knows if its Win 7, Pt11, glitch-riddled board or just reacting to memory, speed and capacity limits?

...then I need to ask:
Anybody know of anyone who has used PT11 with Win 10? If so how has (did) it worked out? Last edited by mickeyrouse; 12-05-2017 at 04:26 AM. |
