You want to know the big deal about IRQs here it goes

If you know anything about how I should resolve this issue someone please tell me. Already I tried step two in the optimizing xp for protools section. I've tried going into bios and putting PnP on Manual. If your going to help please walk me through this. |

Re: You want to know the big deal about IRQs here it goes
I haven't tried forcing IRQs yet with WinXP, but if you bios is the same it shouldn't matter. Have you tried hard forcing Digi to IRQ9? Should be in Advanced/PCI configuration of your bios depending on your bios.

Allen,
The reading I've done about the default installations of XP suggest that XP OVERRIDES the BIOS settings. Bummer, huh? Mark |

Musichead,
OK, so I see data but I'm not sure what the problem is. Are you having trouble right now with these settings? These settings are not too bad from a *traditional* IRQ standpoint. If you could get the 001 in FRONT of the graphics controller that would be better. How did you manage to change the IRQ setting from the values in your other thread??? Let me know. Take care, Mark |
