Default Anyone using EWQL PLAY in Pro Tools?

Anyone tried the PLAY 1.0.83 software in Pro Tools?

I am getting regular crashes when using it as an RTAS plug-in.

My system never crashes, unless PLAY is active.

Would love to get at the root of the problem.

Thanks

Paul

The PLAY engine is poop, it doesn't work with any DAW at the moment. Pray for an update.

Paul, are you on PT 7.3.1? Play RTAS is supported on 7.4 and later.

I've been using Play just fine with my other D.A.W.

But it never has worked all that great with P.T.L.E.

I can't seem to get PLAY to work in PTLE. I though it was because I was using my M-Box. I will try it out with my 002 and see if I get better performance. If not, I'll be bouncing quite a lot to and from Logic. It works in Logic with 128 samples latency, but hogs one processor all to itself and I have to be careful how many samples I load because as soon as I max out that one processor the clicks and pops start happening. So far I've had 1 PLAY based crash in Logic. Its not ready for prime time, and I paid a bundle for the package. East-West has always had the best stuff until this.

According to their website, PLAY RTAS is supported in Pro Tools 7 and higher.

Where did you hear this?

I have been holding off upgrading to 7.4, because I use a lot of Midi, and have heard some horror stories about 7.4 and Midi timing.

Can't afford that right now!!

Thanks for the link!

I couldn't find it either after searching for 15 minutes. I was only able to find an older table that had 7.3 and higher supported, but this is newer information.

Now the BIG question. Is anyone using 7.4cs1 with PLAY 1.0.83?

If so, can you report if it works, or noticeably improved?

I would upgrade if I thought it was an improvement, but am nervous that it could throw off my Midi timing. I am in the middle of a project now.But would REALLY like to use MOR and SD2.

Thanks again!

Paul

Sorry to say, but your comment is what´s poop
Play works perfectly in Logic, at least on mine and many of my colleagues.
I have orchestra platinum plus, Fab Four and Gypsy and all are working with no problems.
