silly you unlinked your edit and timeline selections.

the fast way to fix this is to type a question mark in the edit window ( shift + / )

there's a button under your edit tools that will toggle this feature too, but I dunno if I can describe it well. it has arrows and lines and dots... it's weird. search the manual for " link timeline and edit "

For the record pressing 'n' toggles this setting on and off so it's easy to accidentally mis hit it.

Cheers

That's keyboard focus mode, right?

umm...

I'm pretty sure "n" in keyboard focus makes timeline insertion follow playback. This is different from link timeline and edit.

iow

link timeline and edit (shift + /) links the two selections so that your edit cursor also dictates where playback will be.

timeline insertion follows playback ("ctl + n" or "n" in key focus) will make the timeline selection/cursor update to the point where playback stopped instead of returning to the original playback position.

i think.
