Default PT 8.0.3 CS1, Digi 002 Rack, Yosemite, Ya I know....LMAO!

Hi Guys, so yes first time on the forum since June 2011. I have not done any recording since then as well. The mac pro I use regularly is upgraded to Yosemite.

So I fire Protools 8 up tonight expecting the worst and encountered no errors and playback was magnificent. No exceptions on recording, but have not tried yet either.

So I guess my question is, if I am going to use this system again....is it worth upgrading to 11? My fear will be that all of my older plugins may not work. (waves)....any feedback is welcome!

Thanks
Brad

So first things first, a guitar player I take it?(User name)

I would say 11 should be lots better in terms of CPU power. Waves is compatible with AAX, v9 but you may have to WUP.

But by reading between the lines I'm assuming you were running ProTools eight on Mac OS Snow Leopard, since that was the last version of ProTools that was qualified for eight

While your machine may work on Yosemite now if it's an older Mac you wouldn't be taking advantage of all of the native CPU power of a newer computer coupled with PT11
