Been there, 10.6.8 apparently is "a legacy OS" to NI. They're not selling the older software.

Hey JFreak, I appreciate your help. That page definitely gives some clarity.
It appears the Kontakt 5 Player that I downloaded from NI to try with 10.6.8 is a more current version that needs Mac OS 10.7. They make it tough finding the older stuff...still searching. The Kontakt 5 Player incarnation that I need is not available from them or at least I haven't found it yet. I'd like to see the player work with my rig before I purchase the whole thing.

NI Kontakt 5 works with OS X 10.8 and above as confirmed by a recent email from NI Tech Support.

I was able to get a hold of the cello patch for Structure and it does indeed sound quite decent & usable. Thanks! I was using the freebie pocketBlakus which I think sounds really great, it's dry also...but it only works with Kontakt but I'm still looking for the full version of Kontakt 4, it works in the Kontakt Player but in demo mode only.

I cannot believe NI cannot provide you with a 5.0.3 installer which per their knowledgebase article is compatible with OSX 10.6.8

I was finally able to get a legit copy of Komplete 7, good to go now.

Dang...the install is pretty ridiculous as has been well documented.
