Hi there,
On a TDM system, if you insert any RTAS plug-in on an aux track with an active input, a delay of just about exactly twice the HW buffer will be incurred. If you think of it in terms of signal flow, this is basically because the "signal" has to travel off the mix engine on the card(s), through the HW buffer, be processed by the host CPU, and then travel back through the HW buffer again to the mix engine.

The same thing will happen on an audio track if you have a TDM plug inserted before an RTAS plug-in.

So, depending on your HW buffer size, the total delay of the track may end up being larger than what ADC can compensate for.

THanks so much for your help. I understand now.
Another question. If I upgrade to a hd2 system will I have more voices available? At 88.2 48 isn't enough.
Thanks
