PT10/Mbox Mini "Unable to locate hardware..."
Pro Tools 10 currently won't load. In the startup it gets to "DAE Loaded" and then tells me "Unable to locate hardware. Make sure your hardware is connected and turned on".
This is a brand new system, and Pro Tools was working fine during assembly at the factory. It's only since delivery to me that this problem has occurred. I'm using an Mbox Mini which is recognised by my PC, and I can play audio outside of Pro Tools fine. I have driver version 1.0.8 installed with firmware 0.7.0 I have tried every single usb port on my computer and still get the same message. I've googled this and looked around on here, and it seems to be a common problem, especially with Mbox Mini's? There doesn't seem to be a solution either, other than to install everything again and cross your fingers. Am I basically consigned to the tedious nature of that or is there something else I can try before that? Re: PT10/Mbox Mini "Unable to locate hardware..."
First things I would do is; disable the wireless adapter and the VIA firewire(which you may not be using anyway). Then you might consider adding a PCIe graphics card and disabling the onboard graphics(which is often a show stopper with PT). The hold down the N key while opening PT and make certain the Mbox is the selected audio device(AKA "ENGINE").

Re: PT10/Mbox Mini "Unable to locate hardware..."
This happened to me several times with my Mbox 3rd Generation. After a couple of uninstall and reinstalls of the MBox drivers, it cleared up, and has never happened again.

Re: PT10/Mbox Mini "Unable to locate hardware..."
Yeah this seemed to do the trick. Though I still have this annoying whine, onto the other forum I will go.
