Hello my friends can you tell me what bufer size are you using ?
im using 1024 Samples but sometimes my machine have problems and i put 512 Samples Can you tell me people for mixing if there are any difrence in mix in 512 or 1024? My machine sometimes Stop in 1024 samples Does H/W Buffer size 512 afect the quality of the sound ? or its because the delay compension engine ? Its better work with Long (4095 Samples per channel) ? im using 96 voices( 2 DSPs) because i have many tracks In the playback buffer the size in protools is (Level 2 Default ) and in CPU im using 90 % and set to 1 processor because my Mac its a dual processor i work with Mac G5 1.8 Dual processor Protools 7.2 HD1 only cord card Card Universal audio with plugins and SSL Duende i mix in 44.1KHz and 24bits i only mix inside the box What configuration do i need to put in Protools for Buffer ? if i use 512 i loss quality ? The buffer size has no effect on quality! larger buffer size will give you more RTAS performance! BUT will create more delay with plugins so you might exceed your delay compensation easy. Small buffer will give you better delay compensation performance, but less RTAS plugins. You can use any buffer setting! BUT its not advisable to change the buffer once a mix session is started! you should always leave the buffer set the same from beginning to the end of a mix session, changing it in the middle of a session might cause tracks to shift their delay compensation and start to play slightly out of time. 512 buffer is what i use and it seems to be best of both worlds. But you have a Duende and UAD cards so you need to check if these need any specific buffer settings! Chris
