PluginUpdate drops server

Inspired by accidentally coming across news of updated plugins on the SSL thread in the main forum, and owning the bundle but having no notification from SSL (not the only ones obviously), what about a "Plugin Updates AAX (or AAX/RTAS)" board on the AUC where users or signed up DEVs can simply post info and link when we come across updated plugs or DEV's update their range. No discussion just that info, even a quick scan on the latest posts would be enough to let you know what was going on in update world.

There's few users on here who do that already , and thanks to them, between all of us we must own every PT plug surely..

"Note from Shane McFee: PluginUpdate has been discontinued, effective December 22, 2017.

PluginUpdate was a free app that scanned for updates to plugins installed on your system. It supported VST, AU, AAX, RTAS, and TDM formats on the Mac, as well as VST format on Windows-based machines. Due to lack of market interest over the course of 4 years since its inception, the app and underlying service have been discontinued. For an alternate solution to keeping your plugins up to date, MyKVR is recommended.
The binaries below will still run, but will not connect to a live database."


What a shame! MyKVR is not a convenient alternative for me.

They did the same thing a year ago but brought it back again by popular demand. Perhaps we can get them to put the database back online again? I imagine it runs itself basically.
