I recently wanted to revisit some sessions created with my Digi002 back in 2001 and when trying to open these in PT12, I get the error message that the audio files cannot be found. The audio folder is there and the files are in that folder but for some reason, they are not seen and cannot load into the PT12 session.

I looked at the files and they are SoundDesign II files vs. WAV which is what I believe is currently used. Is there some way to get PT12 to see these and load them?

There used to be a utility used to convert these SD2 files over to wav

But I don't remember who had it....iirc PT9 was able to open these files and then save/export them as wav's

I see. I have no idea what he's up to now, but I remember him as a very valuable resource around here a few years back.

Thanks for the feedback. I will find a converter to use but will that fix this issue? It was only my theory that the SDII files can't be seen by PT12.

Yes It was either PT8/9 that didn't read the SD2 format....thus the need for the converter

Converted the tracks to WAV and PT still cannot find or load them. I have another computer at our studio that has PT10 on it but used the same iLok I currently use for PT12. Haven't needed to use the other PT system so I hope it will open and more importantly, does anyone know if PT10 still could manage older sessions and possibly resolve this?

Convert them then use the import files command
