Default Axiom Pro 61 BSOD (Solved)

Has anyone else ever experienced the Blue Screen of Death on the M-Audio Axiom Pro series keyboards? If so, what was your solution?

Last night I was fiddling around with my Axiom and I got to the zones/groups page within the edit window. There were some parameters within that sub-window and something called Keyboard Panic. Long story short after pressing a few buttons and trying to figure out what some of these options did, this in turn killed my keyboard. The first thing I noticed were all the led lights that eliminate the buttons were randomly flashing, the screen froze and the keyboard was unresponsive. I turned off the keyboard and soon after that I now have nothing but the Blue Screen of Death. I have had this keyboard for well over 5-6 years. That is a long time to have something and while I do understand that at some point things fail, I also soon found out that this keyboard is experiencing the same issues others have posted on the internet.

After some research, I have found two common solutions.

The first is to pry and solder some resisters and capacitor (forgive me for not knowing exactly the terminology is). I have absolutely no soldering experience and this solution scares me.

The second solution is the one I will attempt. It is flashing the chip and reinstalling the firmware of some sort that controls the boot up process by using a JTAG device that is directly connected to the keyboards main motherboard and using a windows based app called uVision to load a hex file containing information that erases and reinstall's this "firmware". I have ordered a Keil knockoff device on eBay which ships from Hong Kong and will likely be here in Cali in about 3-6 weeks :/

Has anyone ever tried this and succeeded?

Things I have already tried:
-Different USB ports on my Mac Keyboard->Mac
-Connecting to a USB Hub (Both a USB 2.0 and USB 3.0) keyboard->Hub->Mac
-Different USB cables
-External power supply

So far none of the above solved my issue but I am hoping some of you here on the DUC had gone through this and came out victorious like I am hoping to come out.

Is there a compatible Axiom Pro driver for that OS?

I am not even sure what you are describing is happening here.

You are not getting a BSOD on OS X on a Mac, by definition you onloy get that on Windows. So you are getting a Mac gray screen? aka kernel panic/crash on OS X? If so what exactly is OS X reporting for that crash.. go find that crash report (under System Diagnostic Reports) in the Console.app utility and cut and paste the details here. It sounds like you are getting just an application error. No BSOD or kernel panic/crash involved.

Here are two links to help describe the issue I am experiencing.

You can read this:

This is what I am going to attempt once the parts come in. What I am hoping the outcome is; a revived Axiom Pro.

OK great. But when you start a thread talking about a "BSOD" people assume you are taking about a Windows BSOD, .. usually caused by driver bugs, hence wasting time on questions about drivers etc.

Seems like you are off and going in the right direction now.

OP, if a firmware flash with the latest download doesn't work and a second solution has been posted, ummm take it or leave it, cause AxiomPro is or if not EOSS. I run an Axiom P49 and it's still flagship to me too.
