Default No Audio w/o Speakers?

Hi All,

I'm travelling interstate at the moment and brought my computer and iLok to do some editing and mixing while on the road.

I could open Pro Tools fine but I wasn't getting any audio at all-- I could see ASIO4ALL in the hardware setup, but couldn't configure any of it to get sound.

So I returned home for a weekend and grabbed my MBox 2 and monitor headphones. After updating the drivers I can see the Mbox in my 'playback engine', 'hardware setup', and 'I/O setup', all of which suggest that it should be working fine. I've been into the sound settings in the control panel and set the MBox to the default speakers. Still nothing.

The only difference between this and my setup at home is that I have monitors/speakers that plug directly into a Fast Track 8R (instead of the MBox). I would still think I should be able to hear audio through the headphone jack on the MBox... any ideas? I really appreciate your time.

Sounds like the session is opening with 'Last Used' settings.

With Mbox set as playback engine;

Pro Tools>Setup>I/O Setup>Input Tab click default...same for Output Tab.

In Output Tab there is also setting for 'Audition Path' or something similar...set to 'Main out L/R'

If that doesn't work, trash preferences and repeat procedure before opening PT.

Thanks Zedhed! I had to trash my preferences and opened a new session, after which my more recent sessions then worked.

Makes me wonder if I could've done this before waiting to get my MBox. Oh well.

Hopefully I don't face other issues on the switch back to my home setup!

Thanks again.
