Default Re: Video of CPU usage WAY too high - part II

I have Yosemite 10.10, ProTools 11.3, brand new MacBook Pro maxed out & am getting the peaking to 100%. My sessions won't even play now after taking almost all plugins off. Amazing that this has been around for over a year & hasn't been fixed by Avid. What are we paying for if I can't even work in Protools.

My CPU spikes, gives error, then audio is garbled.

This is happening a lot in PT11.3.1, runing around 45% in PT, quad core i7 Mac Mini with Fusion System Drive OSX 10.9.5,(also happens in Yosemite) recording to USB3 flash drive/SSD. It just spikes and error pops up saying remove plug ins etc. Buffer is at 1024. If I check Activity Monitor, PT is at 200% after the error and audio is crackling and garbled, have to quit PT and relaunch! I did run the Spotlight fix to to disable Spotlight and verified mdworker and mds were not showing up in Activity Monitor, but that didn't seem to help. Any ideas of what else can be done? Thanks!!

Have you considered replacing the Fusion drive with a standard SSD? I have seen many posts where Fusion drives have been implicated in other Pro Tools issues.

I have 2 systems, both do the same thing. One has SSD system drive with Yosemite, one has Fusion drive with Mavericks.
