The San Francisco Chronicle also had a more in-depth article about Pro Tools and sound in film earlier this week:

This is excellent.

The time is ripe. And not only is it good for Digi but it's good for all of us. I hope they win more in the years to come.

You should be able to order additional Oscar statuettes for people involved in the project if you listed their names in the entry. At least that's how the Emmys work. I'm sure the Academy has a similar setup. The statuettes are a few hundred bucks I believe. Just because you win doesn't mean you get a free Oscar, still have to pay for it. Most people are surprised to hear that. The one they hand you on stage is just for show.

My dad was mastering engineer on a couple of records back in the early 70s which won grammys and he did'nt get one for them and I would be willing to pay to get them for him, no luck so far.

To get a Grammy, as an engineer, you must have worked on more than 50% of the album. (Otherwise I would have been nominated again this year).

Rail, I assume you mean as a first and not an assistant engineer. I don't think I've ever seen a second with a Grammy!

I thoroughly enjoy Ben Harper and enjoyed his latest. What was the extent of your involvement there?
