Default CPU too hot? - help needed.

Are my G4 getting to warm?

I have put 4 MIX farms in my new Dual 1,2GHz G4, and I am experiencing weird blackouts in OS X. The 4 PCI cards is leaving littel room for aircirkulation inside the computer.

The air coming out of the computer is PRETTY warm. How can I check if the processor is running warm? too warm??

Put a thermometer in the air coming out of the computer and compare your reading with the Apple and Digi specs. I have my Mac in a sound isolation box, where heat can be a real problem. I use a Radio Shack (I am a stock holder) indoor/outdoor thermometer to keep an eye on the temperature. The outdoor probe is mounted above where the hot air comes out of the Mac. This way I can see what the room temperature is as well as my Mac's temperature. You probably don't want it going over 90 degrees F.

I'm guessing that Apple designed the Mac to cool properly with all PCI slots loaded.

Thank you barnabas.

I don't even have my mac inside my box yet. It's standing free in the room. Maybe my problem ARE Ram related??

Protools 6.0 just disapears from the screen, without warning?
