Default Are you Satisfied with the fast Avid Updates?

Avid did say they will be able to provide faster updates with the new Update Plan Method, but personally, in the last 6 months I've only has 1 update?? (and that was to PT12.5 where the meters are sluggish in El Capitan)

But regardless, where is all the frequent updates? I'v been waiting and there not here.

Am I alone here?

From what I've been reading here, 12.5 is, in general, a nightmare. If they're going to hurry anything else to market, it should be something that actually works.

There have been two updates in the past 6 months (12.4 and 12.5)

does 2 qualify for Fast ?? they made it seem more like one a month ... and that they would need a little time to get up to speed .. one update a Quarter does not seem to meet this ...

i guess we need to go back and figure out what the old frequency of service updates was ..

this new plan sucks so far ..

Not to mention all these updates other than Colab have been things already in HD and just handed to vanilla users. So HD users have seen even less updates.

We all just want toe bugs to be fixed and stability back. And Avid wants to do things that they can sell as services, like the Cloud. Commit is great, but look what it has caused. A certain crash when it reaches the end of the Undo list. I have a feeling that these issues are tied to a basic error in the 64 bit code, which will not be fixed by a small "revision". For use as users, it just means reinstalling the program. But for Avid, it may mean basic elements of the code that will require that all things after that be revisited. Like 3rd party plugs and EVERYTHING else. That's a big problem for them. How would you like to make that phone call to Waves. "ummm, yes. We made a small error in 11 and 12, and you'll have to rewrite all the plugs again. On your own dime."

How is this for a new slogan: Avid--Bringing oopsie-daisy back!

I'm giving 12.5 on El Capitan a whirl today tracking.

Laggy gui and crash happy.

I wish hotfixes would come out fast instead of version increases.

I think an update every few months can be described as "timely" but not as "fast." I'm looking at it with a different metric, though - my main concern is the severity of bugs that are fixed. For me the indication of how fast they update would be time between repro of a critical bug and fix release, not necessarily the amount of time in between updates.

I already gave up my support plan, at this rate and considering that I haven't had to use the cloud so far, I wont have nothing to do with Avid by 2017.

Also, you can not tight something as free as the creative process to a yearly subscription.
