This just forces a rescan of the plugins which can be time consuming - it doesn't damage anything. If you want to clean the caches and don't want to rescan the plugs just move the caches from the user/Library/Caches to the desktop and then move them back when CCleaner finishes. This doesn't effect PT plugs.
Good info... Thanks!

In Windows 10, there’s:
C:\Program Files\Avid\Pro Tools\LogFiles
+
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Avid\Crashlog
+
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\Avid\Logs

AppData Folder:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\
Needs the “\” after “AppData”, when you type to search, next to the “Start” button

Are the protools logs necessary in any way?

well... if sent to AVID its what later turns out to be bug fixes... so yeah there is a reason for them... thought there is no real reason for what they are not purging themselves from time to time... 40GB of garbage files on the system look like too much for my way of thinking...

I dont have a library in that second path.

Can you post the exact paths or is that the only 2 places to look?

On the Mac, some Avid PT logs also show up in the Console under ~/Library/Logs and can be deleted from there.

No, on the Mac. Console is in Utilities.

That's very strange. Are you quite shure?
These two are standard folders, been there as long as I can remember, although I can't remember ever needing them in any way, much less needing to delete stuff because of size.

The "myaccount" is the one with most activity here. 10+ log files modified today. Lots of folders too, and nothing over 10mb size. Mostly very small.
The Logs folder in top level library has very few files. Mainly one folder called "DiagnosticReports" with lots of log files.

I did post the exact paths, and I'm almost certain that these are the only two places.
Added: I checked my Snow Leopard (!) drive, same two folders, same locations. And because I have PT10 there, Logs folder contains Avid and Digidesign folders. But only small size files.
