Default PT unexpectedly Quit

The last time I was bouncing down tracks, PT gave me a "Protools has unexpectedly quit" message. I wanted to know if the fix in answerbase is what I should do (since it says "specifically for mbox"). Or is there something else I should do in order to resolve this problem?

also, are there any ways to increase the volume of my CDs when i burn them...i always have to crank the volume on my stereo much more than with regular cds. thanks!

Mark

Which plug-ins were running when this happened. Previous BF stuff ubtil the latest update and current IK stuff hab=ve caused this.

For increasing the volume, try the normalising plug-in from the Audiosuite pull down. Use a C4 on the master fader or an L1

Normalizing won't help much for a full audio program, it just makes sure the loudest peaks are at 0db, which they probably are already since you have the master fader up to just before it goes into OVER.

However the L1 from Waves will solve your problem. What it does is limit the output to, say.... -0.1db ( just so there are no stray peaks that go over) but increase the overall volume allowing you to get a louder CD out of PT. However I would suggest not making it too loud. There is a point where it just get's unlistenable, but there is also a threashold were everything will sound like it's comming out of the speakers a little better and hence louder.

Good luck.
