Default Pro Tools First No Input

I can't seem to get Pro Tools First to recognize an input signal. I tried reinstalling Pro Tools First, and restarting with "N" held down, but nothing I do will allow me to select an input.

Pro Tools First apparently created an "Aggregate I/O", but I can't get that to work either.

I'm using an ART USBDualPre interface with a mic and headphones plugged in. I also tried disconnecting that and using the system mic and speakers.

Please see attached screenshots

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Macbook Pro
Catalina OS 10.15.7

Hi,
I'm not seeing your interface listed in the playback engine list.
(I think)

It shows up as USB Audio Codec in the list.

Hey,

Did you chose that as your playback engine?
If so, open Protools, open I/O setup page, if it is shown as the playback engine, hit Default in each I/O page.

In your input for the track, chose interface and which of the 2 inputs you want to use.

Hi Bookerv12,
I tried selecting the interface (USB Audio Codec) as the playback engine. The tracks still show "no input". Pro Tools First does not have an I/O Setup Page.

From looking at your pictures,
Go to playback engine, change it to your interface.
Tell it to accept your interface as the two inputs and outputs.
Tell it to accept your interface as clock.
Select using your interface's inputs and outputs under subdevices.

Then, go to a tracks input and select Interface (Input 1/2)

We are making progress! However, I can't get it to "accept my interface as the two inputs and outputs. I was able to scroll down to interface and it will accept my internal mic as an input and use the "Pro Tools Aggregate I/O" as the input device. I tried changing it back to the ART Pre, but it reverts back to "no i/o" and the "interface" option is grayed out.

I'm not sure how to follow these commands
