Protools 12HD Slow meters
I just downloaded the installer for 12.5.2 - this is a new install on this computer. No previous version.
Protools Meters are running slow and behind. I read a few online posts about it but haven't found a workaround. Does anyone have a what to do to fix this handy? Computer: 3.33 12 core, 64GB RAM, Yosemite 10.10.5 Audio Interface: Antelope Goliath

Re: Protools 12HD Slow meters
Are all of the other ones not fine? I think the installed default is Digital VU.

Re: Protools 12HD Slow meters
Meters run like crap on 10.10.5. Install Apple's developer tools and use "Quartz debug' to 'disable beam sync'.
The Mac OS tried to regulate the graphics. Apparently, they finally fixed it with Sierra. Hope so. FYI, din't install past 10.10.5 for now. You can't disable beam sync in 10.11

Re: Protools 12HD Slow meters
Thanks!! Great tip!
So, is doing that messing anything else up? Any other consequences with disabling that?

Re: Protools 12HD Slow meters
No bad consequences. My understanding is that Apple was originally trying to regulate frame rates for portables to save on battery use, etc. Of course for us on MacPros, it makes things annoying because it acts as a gate keeper between the software and the screen. It's a huge difference that you can see when you turn it off. It's the first thing I do when I turn on the studio every morning.
