Anyone running a Control 24 with 003 or 002 ?

Hi,

this may be redundant and related to my other thread but I need to know if anyone can run his Control 24 with a Digi 003 or 002 (faders) without any trouble ?

I run a Control 24 with a Digi 003 and I cannot have my meters working on the C24, I need to know for Digidesign to help me, if this is due only to Digi003 or to the fact that it's also a control surface...

I've run it with an 003r since the 003 first came out. No problems, but I'm running an older version of PT (7.3.1cs7). I've heard there are some meter issues with PT8. So I would say you are OK in the hardware department. You may have to pester them about the SW issues if you are running PT8.

thanx for your answer. I've tried also with Pro Tools LE 7.4 and 7.0 ... with the same meters issues.
Digidesign told me it should work as it has been validated, but you consolidate my position with your post.
Anyway, I'm about to order a 003 rack, I'll see if this is a firewire issue with a Control 24 which needs a revision or only a Digi 003 trouble.

might be a dumb question but i'm thinking of getting an older control 24, i was told i still need to use my 002r with it as the 24 itself is simply a control surface nothing else, anyone know if this is right....thxs

Allsopp that is correct.

the Control 24 is a control surface with 16 Focusrite PreAmps, that you'll need DB25 snakes to utalize. A monitor and Talkback section that is all TRS, and an ethernet port, for the Controller Automation.
