Default CPU and System Levels rise after vocals end...

this happens on 2 different songs. Every time the vocals end for good and the instrumental tracks are just playing....the CPU and System levels rise. Sometimes causing buffet messages. Anyone know anything about this?

This happens to me when using Autotune. I think it has to do with trying to process (tune) an infinity db wave.

it is autotune, assuming you are using it. this problem can be resolved by writing bypass automation to the track. ie. only have autotune active when there is vocal content.

the cpu usage issue will be addressed when antares release version 3 for pc rtas later this year.

I'm not even sure what Auto-tune is. is that a feature within Protools or something extra? If something extra... I'm definatly not using it. It's annoying because even the plug ins are not over using the cpu... it may over use it after the vocals end....before I have enough time to make a decent fade or end the song as I would like.

-What else is in the session after the vocals end (on any track)...are more plug-ins introduced, more automation, higher edit density?...all of these things can effect the CPU performance meter.

-Are you using the generic IDE drivers from the Win98/ME CD-ROM with DMA enabled?
