WTB: Avid D-Command/D-Control/Avid S3

It's a mighty big long shot, but if anyone knows of any used D-Commands/D-Controls/S3s up for sale somewhere in the vicinity of Sydney, Australia please lemme know. Happy to arrange freight or a road trip to come and check it out.

Are you looking for a 24 fader or just the main 8 fader unit?
There was a D Command ES main unit in Sydney on Resurface website a while back, but it was a while. Worth a look there maybe. Not a lot around, i've been looking for an ES fader pack for at least a year with no luck.

Probably just the 8-fader main unit at this point, Andy. There is a chap over in Perth selling a 24-fader blue D-Command, but by the time it lands in Sydney it's about the same price as a shiny new S3. Ive almost convinced myself that Eucon's attention, warranty and continued support outweigh the lack of custom faders.

Thanks for the tip. I'll take a look at Resurface. If a 24 fader ES comes up I'll definitely drop you a line about the fader pack.

EuControl has new features where you can show hidden tracks in layouts, spills, and banking (just on the console even if not on the PT screen). Separate controls for folder members, as well. Not quite the power and efficiency of custom fader groups, but it's what allowed me to jump ship and consider an S3+Dock. I'm currently squeezing by with an McMix/McControl/Avid Control. However, nothing has been as rock-solid as the D-Command/D-Control in my experience, even if limited.

Yeah I almost bought Chad in Perth's fader pack a couple of months back but I can't come to grips with a half black half blue console. I still keep an artist mix just in case I want to use Eucon. Being able to program yur own strings of commands to one button is the strength of Eucon for me, I had a bunch for trimming backgrounds to a range then extending a couple of frames before and after a scene change and adding fades, it was a dream, but it's so hard to beat the dedicated eq and dynamics on the icons. I had an artist control and 3 mixes, but eq and dynamics was no where near as easy a workflow, looks similar to me on the dock/S1 combo. I'm always trawling the net so I'll keep an eye out for anything that might fit the bill.
