Changing the plugin will often do that, and you may need to manually change the assignment. If you set(under View>Mix Window Views) and put a check by Instrument, that will add a row across the top of the MIX window(unless you already have that view). Check the photos and follow the red arrows showing what to click to open the window for setting this assignment. If its not showing a check by the actual plugin instrument, that's the issue
