question about PB, firewire ,and 002r
im thinking of getting a powerbook and an 002r setup. i know that the powerbook im getting only has 1 firewire input. how would i hook up an external hard drive and the 002r at the same time? or do i need to?
how is this done? it has usb but i dont know if it is 2.0. would that be an option? thank for any help |

Most (maybe all) firewire drives have two ports, so you can daisy-chain them:
computer->drive->002 The 002 has two firewire ports also, but Digi recommends against putting the 002 in the middle, as shutting off the 002 would disconnect the hard drive, which might be bad if the computer isn't finished writing to it. I've found that on my system (2 different approved firewire cards, 3 approved firewire drives, 002), the system is a little picky about the order in which things are powered up and plugged in, but once running, all is good.
