When doing fades with session runing they don't render until I stop it. I have experienced this kind of thing when firewires are too full but this time it happens all the time on all my drives

help please....

You have a good computer. Why not track to a second internal drive and use the firewire for backups. I had a lot less disk problems since I bought one. They are even less expensive than external drives.

I have so many projects going on at the same time that it would be a pain to track into internals
plus this thing just started to happen recently, no problems with firewire before, even with 40/50 tracks sessions
I'm sure it's something else...

Open task manager, and turn off "pause on playback"
