Default Help importing .etf file

I have a client who has an ancient version of Finale. We're slated to do a Christmas project. HE sent me the exported midi, but it only came up as 3 instruments. he then sent me the Blah.ETF file. Which nothing seems to be able to open.

Do you folks know of a way I can open/import this into some program, then export the midi so I can pull this into PTHD to use Kontakt/Structure strings on it?

The demo of Finale 2009 will open it, but will not export the midi. of course. rrrrrr!!!!!

Any thoughts on how to go about getting the midi properly into pro tools?

Notepad cannot read .etf files (amazing considering its a Finale product).

Maybe I will ask over at their forums.
