Default How are native instruments plugins on PT8.

I'm thinking of buying komplete 7 and getting pro tools 8 on september 1 when komplete 7 comes out. My main concern is battery I have to have that.

For a while, there were some problems, but in the last year or so, they've really worked out a lot of the bugs. Many users are using NI stuff just fine now.

The most important thing is when you're installing, to make sure you download the latest updates to the programs. Also, it seems to help, once everything is installed and updated, to open each program in standalone mode first, before trying to open it as a plugin in Protools (or any other DAW). It seems like this helps with the initial setup.

Also, try to make sure you have at least 4gb ram in your computer, and even more would be helpful.

Finally, it's recommended by most manufacturers of sample-based instruments to use a dedicated hard drive for your samples. Not the system drive and not the drive you record audio onto.

Komplete 6 works here. Not sure about 7 yet since it hasn't been released but I suspect it will be even better.

No USB drives. A better option would be another internal drive for your Sample Libraries. E-Sata is also an option. Firewire is OK, but performance is always better on internal and E-Sata.

Is there any internal hard drive in particular you think I should get?

well the Western Digital Caviar Black Drives are great. Either the 32MB cache SATA II or 64MB cache SATA III, both are great. If you happen to have a motherboard with SATA III connectors then def get the SATA III drive, SATA III drives are backwards compatible with SATA II connections so which ever you want will work.

Newegg is out of the 640GB SATA III drives right now, all they have is 1TB.

I never did ask if you have a PC or Mac, or Desktop or Laptop.

If you want to use the drive as an external E-Sata, this case works good, I have 2. It comes with an E-Sata bracket if you dont already have the port.

of course the bracket only would work if we are talking about a desktop

Im on a desktop pc. I have a asus m2n-sli deluxe motherboard. I'm extremely ignorant on computers. I know i'm going to need two hard drives. One for my ikmultimedia and native instruments samples and another one for audio since everyone tells me that its better to have an internal for audio rather than external firewire. All those hard drives you listed will work with me motherboard right?

yep. just make sure to get some SATA cables too if you dont have any laying around, the drives do not come with the cables.

Any of those drives will work.
