Default New PT10 User. MBox3, MAudio Fast Track Ultra, MAudio Fast Track 8R?

Hi. Deciding which to purchase to use with PT10 in the studio. I already own an MBOX 2. Which is the best bet. I may actually use my laptop as my go to recording device because it is so powerful. My 003 is trash (based on experience due to the Audio Drivers), and while it works well on my XP system, I want something more stable and versatile on my new system

1. Mbox3
2. Fast Track 8R - http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-a...h-pro-tools-se
3. Fast Track Ultra - http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_u...rackUltra.html

What do you think?

Just my 2 cents here, but, based on my total failure with the Fast Track Pro, I won't buy any M-Audio hardware. And, FWIW, my 003 is working flawlessly here, using the TI Compliant firewire driver(Legacy, which Avid recommends, does not work....PERIOD). I would look at Mbox Pro(does it have enough IO?), MOTU 828 Mk3, Focusrite LS56 or RME FF800.

Hi Albee. I am trying to get away from Firewire since I have USB ports on my laptop (saves me from having to buy a card that sticks out of my laptop). Plus the 003 is aging anyway. There are inside hide cards (that are flush) that offer up to 3 USB 3.0 ports extra than the 3 I already have.

The 828 is USB and Firewire, looks sleek and is sexy :) I"ll look into THAT. Thanks a lot!

On sound quality alone, go with the Mbox 3.
