It takes at least SSL 4k console that I would bother mixing out of the box.

Single track hardware insert is not enough to call it analog mixing, you need to have all the tracks on console inputs and sum it with the console.

Which is why 99.99% of the mixes today are in the box by my standards

Good vid, like his enthusiasm! This sounds like it could be a great implementation, credit due if Avid sort this out. I like the idea of the "kind-of-summing" but not if you don't want it to be folder - by routing certain tracks not to the folder AUX out but contained within ... therefore interested to see how ducking the folder volume out fader works in this context - as VCA type? (if indeed solo does the Vca style soloing of the tracks in the folder ) or if it leaves the unrouted folder tracks as their individual volumes without change.

I can see how the old AUX subgroup bus setup might now be obsolete with folders. Sounded like this was a (2 week?) recent addition so probably not imminent but very welcome.
