Mac Troubles

[Extreme Mixing]

I have a Mac 2x2.66 GHz Dual Core Intel Xenon machine. It had been stable for quite some time, but Has been acting up since I upgraded to 10.5.8 and installed Pro Tools 8.0.1. I added Trillian to the mix a couple of days ago, and I just downloaded the newest update, and will try that later today. I notice that my permissions are always in need of repair now, after months of not needing to even check them. If I repair them, then check again, they all need to be repaired. Again. How can I fix this? It seems to be the same, or a very similar list every time.

just Repaired permissions again, then re-checked them, and it generates exactly the same list. Maybe it's not related to my Mac "buggyness" but it sure seems like it is...

That's why I clone my system drive once every couple weeks. If I ever get into a funky state, I can just clone back.

As for your problems, have you tried Disk Warrior?

I don't want to clone back. I want to keep my new instruments and use them. I really think it's the new STEAM engine. Every thing was looking so good, and then, Poof...

We had this problem and the only way to solve it was to re-install the system. The ACL problem seems to be the clue to this problem and we couldn't find a solution. Strangely, the Cloned Backup was also screwed, but after a system re-install all was OK.
