Default 192 Expansion?

Hey I want to get some 192's but I want to have 16 analog ins and outs per interface. Do I have to buy 1 DA and 1 AD expansion card to do this and take out the digital one? And does digi offer the option to order it with out the digital card and credit the difference?

You can't do that. Only one slot is capable of having any of the cards added to it. So you can only get the 192 in a 16/8/8, 8/16/8, or 8/8/16 channel configuration. Your only option for using 1 192 with 16 channels of i/o is to get a seperate 16 channel a/d and adding the expansion d/a card.

The 192 I/O will not support 16 Analog ins and outs at the same time. You can only add one expansion card which would give you an additional 8 outs or 8 ins.

It's the same for 96 I/O?
Can I have 24 outputs with just 2 interfases (1 standard + 1 with 16 outs/8 ins) or I need 3 96 I/O?

The 96 I/O isn't expandable like the 192 I/O so you would need 3 of the 96 I/Os in order to have 24 analog outs.

This is what I did
Buy 192 Digital only and 1 AD16, 1 DA16 [all old version which is cheaper].
You will have 16 In/Out .... Apogee quality.
