Default Loud crack when assigning to busses

I have experienced a very Loud crack when assigning audio tracks to busses [ie: assing all drums into bus 1-2 with aux track input as bus 1-2], the master fader has all red meter as well as many other type of fader, I have to quit session and reopen it.
Note the the problem will happen randomly in middle or at start of session and very frequently, I already check if any signal loops.
I was thinking a possible problem with core card but after got it back from Digi service, I still have that problem.
I am still using 6.9, OSX.3 Panther.
Please help me!!!!
Sonny

Hi,

Have you followed the trouble shooting thread at the top of this forum!

and try the obvious things like...

Trash all Pro tools and DAE preferences from Mackintosh HD/users/your name/library/preferences

Trash all Digi databases from all hard drive partitions.

Use your CD installer to re-install PT. this isn't too difficult and only takes a few minutes. go to install and select custom and now select un-install, try the "safe uninstall" first and then re-boot the mac and then re-install PT.

Repair permissions from the disk utility after each install.

quote> master fader has all red meter as well as many other type of fader< Do you mean the clip indicators are red and need to be reset?? there's no need to re-boot to do this!! under track menu "clear clips"
