Default DSP Settings in Playback Engine

I am wondering why would you choose 96 voices and 3 dsp's over 96 voices and 2 dsp's - what's the thinking behind this?

Thanks,
T

Depending on the computer and how many other things are going on in the session a 2 chip 96 voice might throw PCI bus errors where the 3 chip 96 voice will not even blink.

And yes, I have run into the errors my self (but not for a while)
