Current Playback Engine does not Support a Sample Rate of 48 Hz
Hi,
I am using Pro Tools 12 and Windows 10 with a Digi 003 and I get the error above when I try to open a project. When you click ok, it just stops and will not load the project. A secondary pop up showing a solution would be really great here. For my Windows audio device I have the Digi 003 inputs 1 and 2 set, so the computer audio will go to my monitors and secondary PA (for backing tracks, etc) In Pro Tools I have the Digi 003 set as my control device. How can I correct this so I can open Pro Tools Projects that I have back to version 6? Also, I tried to open the new preformatted mix templates from a vendor and it gives me the same error and will not load the templates. Thank you. |

You cannot share the 003 with both Windows and Pro Tools. Hence your problem. Put the PC back on internal audio and run a cable from the onboard audio output into a pair of inputs on the 003 for routing.

You can use the aux inputs in the monitor section of the 003 for routing computer audio to your monitors.

Re: Current Playback Engine does not Support a Sample Rate of 48 Hz
That is what I am trying to figure out. I have switched my little computer monitors back into the system and Pro Tools projects load up fine now.
But on the back of my computer there are an additional 4 little RCA type audio outputs and an optical s/PDIF output. I don't have a separate sound card. This is just coming off the motherboard (new ASUS X99 Deluxe II. What would be the best way to run that Jimmy? Just being able to run stuff directly from the computer to the PA and monitors is a huge thing to have. Main from the 003 goes to mixing monitors and ALT from the 003 goes to a 5000w PA. |

Re: Current Playback Engine does not Support a Sample Rate of 48 Hz
Ok, so would I just the two AUX inputs on the digi 003?
If so, I would just need the two small phono to large phono adaptor plugs? |

Re: Current Playback Engine does not Support a Sample Rate of 48 Hz
Or, do I dump the computer speakers and just get two lines running from the audio area of the motherboard to the 2 AUX inputs on the monitor section?
And just leave the computer as the playback engine in control panel? |

Quote:
Unplug the computer speakers/monitors and run the stereo audio out from the computer to two aux inputs on the 003. You will likely need some form of "Y" cable depending on what audio out connector is on your computer/audio card. |

Re: Current Playback Engine does not Support a Sample Rate of 48 Hz
I just went down and got two of the small 3.5 cables with adapters and ran them to the 2 Monitor AUX inputs on the Digi 003 and the sound is really only coming out of 1 speaker and it is probably only 10% of what it should be at full blast volume-wise. I've tried every combination of outputs from the motherboard audio outputs with no change.
Are you supposed to come out of 1 output and then split it into the two inputs on the Digi 003? Otherwise, this is horrible and actually lower in volume than the computer speakers. |

Re: Current Playback Engine does not Support a Sample Rate of 48 Hz
The adapters are probably the problem. You should use a cable like this:
