Default Aux tutorial?

I'm running 6.9Le on mac osx 10.4

Does anyone know of a good tutorial about running in/out to aux inputs?

I have my aux's set to reverb, delay, compressor, etc....and then assign the reverb plug in to the reverb aux.....etc......

But what about the in/outs?? Guitar into input 1 -->Bus to Reverb --> out to Analog 1/2

What do I set the aux input to?

Just a little confusing! And can each instrument use the same aux channels to run effects with it's own unique settings??

Here's a simple video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2S2cpkb-68

But keep in mind that reverb, delay, and time based effects are very different compression, limiting, and dynamic effects.
Dynamic and effects are called "in line effects". In other words, you don't want to have a wet and dry signal running simultaneously. All of your signal will go through the compressor.
With reverb, you keep your dry signal, send it to the reverb, and then add the reverberated sound to your dry signal in the mix.
With a compressor, you send your dry signal THROUGH the compressor, and only listen to the effected signal.
Hope that helps

Thanks for the fast reply! That definitely helps Greg!

Now....do I want to set my aux for stereo or mono if using delay, reverb, compressor etc....??

Depends on the content...
If you're compressing an entire drum mix through an Aux, then definitely stereo. If you're just applying a slap-back delay to a guitar track, then mono, even if you want to pan it.
Experiment 'til your heart's content!

So.....can I take the LEFT guitar through AUX1 and set some reverb......then send the RIGHT guitar through AUX1 and set a different reverb, assuming that I change the mono from L to R on the aux track?

I'm guessing NOT. Each AUX track can provide only one setting on the plug in, correct?

You can have a different reverb at different points in the song, if you automate whatever parameters you want to be different.
But if the two guitar tracks are happening simultaneously, you'll need to use two reverbs.
