Autotune is only bad if you can hear it. If used wisely (in graphic mode) in conjunction with Pitch Doctor (using automation, not Auto mode) it can be tranparent.
In this post I guess you want to hear it. If you really want the Cher effect on a note have the singer sing the desired note a half step lower than the note intended and let Autotune tune it up to the correct note.. Instant Cher (yikes).
