Monitoring with hardware reverb while tracking dry with 002
Is there a way to do this using Low latency mode or a higher buffer rate? Just curious, although the 128 buffer isn't too bad with a software reverb while tracking. Thanks...

Re: Monitoring with hardware reverb while tracking dry with
I generally use outboard preamps feeding the S/PDIF input, and send the analog outputs of my interface and the preamp to a small mixer where I can add effects ad nauseam, hardware or software. Add software reverb on an aux track fed from a pre-fader send with channel muted, add hardware reverb on mixer's aux send/return. It's OK if a software reverb has some latency to it, as long as the dry signal doesn't.
With a 002 you could use insert-splitter cables (output end is 1/4" TS, insert end is 1/4" TRS with R&S soldered together) which will send the dry analog input out for monitoring without cutting off the signal to the converters. Mix those with the 002's output, and you can track with a full plugin compliment. |
