Audio File Droputs after Mezzo restore
OK, this is a totally new one on me......
After restoring some sessions from AIT tape (via Mezzo software) several of my audio files are randomly missing little chunks of audio within them. When you play them back you get dropouts of random lengths of half a second to approx. 2 seconds each. If you zoom in on the affected regions (approx. 1 measure of music filling the screen) you will not see any droputs there, but you will defintely hear them! For example, you will SEE the waveform representing a Snare drum hit, but you will not hear it. If you zoom in farther you will see the Snare hit's waveform dissapear and the dropout you've been hearing all along will be seen in the expected place. To clarify: The dropouts are always audible, but there is nothing missing in the visual representation until you zoom in far enough. Anyone seen this before? When I try to restore the same files a second time I get similar problems, but in completely different places in the audio file.... My rig is: P-Tools 5.2 Using a G-4 OS 9.1 512 mb RAM Pacific Pro Audio Firewire hard drives Mezzo software via SCSI AIT drive Thanks, -John [email protected] |
