Apart from a TB3 DSP box, I’m wondering if Avid will also release a USB-C/TB3 interface card for the MTRX/MTRX Studio.

The Avid Facebook post for the event has hashtags #newgear and #newsoftware so presumably we’ll be seeing both.

Not happening! If you want a subscription you get one and if you want a perp license then you buy or stay with that. No one is going to ”Force” anything and saying these things doesn’t foster a nice environment here.

I know, I know... as a perpetual license owner since a loooong time I know Avid will have no interest in messing up with that... I was referring in general to get ready to spend in some new stuff, being it HW or SW... I must say that we probably deserve a complete modern rewriting of the SW, especially in terms of multicore performance, but maybe we will see even better surprises... I like to stay positive, no big complains here, PT is still the best daw around !

My (hopeful) guess is the ability to offload native PT plugins to UAD DSP's.

With Luna starting to turn heads away from PT, maybe Avid and UAD put their heads together to attempt a win-win situation.

Then again, maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Ain’t technically any way to do that.

And as you say UAD is an increasingly interesting well run competitor.

I’m not sure there is really any place for dedicated DSP plug-in only hardware in 2020. UAD and Waves have both moved well beyond it.
I hope it's something similar to this!
